Baked Carrot Fries

I never knew carrots could make a perfect snack especially a substitute for potato fries (Well, potatoes are potatoes and carrots should never be compared with potatoes! Sorry) The taste and the texture were obviously not similar to those of potatoes fries. But, still you’d be surprised once after the outcome. Baked carrot fries was a surprise treat for me today, made with overdose of fresh mozzarella cheese from Kase (they make the best homemade cheese!!) along with some (some? It’s an understatement, I say!) grated garlic and mixed herbs (by yours truly :D). Planning to experiment the same recipe with other vegetables!!!All you need is :-

  • Carrots – 2 big no’s
  • Fresh Mozzarella Cheese- 100-150g
  • Two pods of garlic (I used three. You can add accordingly!)
  • Salt (only if required, because the cheese already contains some amount of salt)
  • Mixed herbs
  • Chilli flakes

This is how you make/ bake it :-

  1. Cut the carrots in Julienne style i.e. thin long strips.

2. Grate the cheese and garlic.
3. Mix them well by adding some mixed herbs and chilly flakes.
4. Preheat the oven at 420 degrees

Mozzarella
Grated cheese
Grated Garlic
Mixed herbs and Chilli flakes

5. Now, mix with the thin long strip of carrots. Keep mixing till they are equally spread.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 150 degrees until carrots are tender.

I am not able to type properly, because my house now smells like a toast of garlic and cheese fries *mmmmmmmzzznnnqqq*

NOTE:- Have it with a salsa dip (alternate options:- Tomato pickle or thakkali thokku :P) or with a basil pesto dip (alternate options :- Coriander chutney)
